While out on my walk today, a neighbor trimmed a lemon tree.
"That's a lot of lemons," I said, eyeing the pile he'd set aside from his clippings.
"Do you want some?" He asked.
"I'd love some," I said. "You know these are 79 cents a piece in the store."
He raised his eyebrows at me.
"I use a half lemon in my tea every morning. It adds up." I smiled and began gathering the fruit.
What gift has someone given you lately?

I love this post. It made me smile. That's a gift. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI've also received the gift of time, and the gift of a really good listener lately.
Yum!! No lemon trees here! Just to pick something from a tree or bush or plant is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSaturday we went with H to a farmers market and went CrAzy!! Everything was sooo fresh and lucious. Got beets with great greens, eggplant that you want to pet, goose berries (who knew) blueberries ( I knew:)garlic scapes, patty pans etc. Oh, for the really fresh "stuff"!
P.S. I use lemon in everything! YUM again.
Any mangoes or avocados?
What a gift!
ReplyDeleteA friend gave me some cucumbers and I made a salad out of them.
What a sweet gesture. I can't even think of a gift I've gotten lately. That's really sad.
