I think their calendar is fascinating. They had such an accurate understanding the stars/planets without the high tech gadgets we rely on today. Amazing.
My understanding is that we're at the end of a series of long cycles and a new era shall begin. I don't think the world will end, but I do hope a new wave of consciousness will emerge.
Funny. For years I've been joking that the Mayan Calender maker only got to 2012 before he died.
