Question of the Day #1,221

My 2 1/2 year old niece says there's a chicken in her bed.

Her daddy tried reasoning with her.

"Where do chickens live?" He asked.

"On a farm," she said.

"So a chicken wouldn't want to be in your bed. There's nothing to eat. There's no corn. There's no grass, right?"

"Uh huh." She nodded her head.

"Okay, so let's go to bed," he said.

"No! There's a chicken in my bed!" she said.

What were some of your childhood fears?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  1. I was congenitally scared of bears. One night when I was about 5 years old I made my Dad empty the contents of the bedroom closet to show me that there was no bear in there!

  2. I had a reoccurring nightmare for years and years. It started with my parents driving our yellow Apollo through a Boston tunnel. First, my dad gets pulled over and put in jail (one of ventilation grates in the tunnel). Next my mom. Then my sister. Then a random neighbor. Last I remember, I drive myself out of the tunnel.

  3. This made me laugh - a chicken??
I haven't grown out of most of my childhood fears. I still have to have one light on for me to hop into bed (because something could come out from under my bed LOL).
Still scared of spiders, heights, etc.
Chickens are an interesting one though.

  4. Too many to list. My dad died when I was a baby and my mom worked full-time. I was left alone a lot, probably at too young an age. I had a lot of fears.
