What's on Your Summer Reading List?

I am reading False Idols and Other Short Stories by my friend, Tony LaRocca.

I have a confession. I have never read SCI FI. Like ever. And the stuff LaRocca writes about is spine tingling, creepy, suspenseful and totally makes me think, "What if?"

It's pretty awesome. And it's also fun to dive into a genre I know nothing about.

What kinds of books do you usually read? What's on your summer reading list?

xoxo,
Suzanne

  2. Isn't it fun to read something different and be surprised?
I'm thick into "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr and LOVE it. Just finished "The Interestings" by Meg Wolitzer (?) and enjoyed that so much, too. Next up: Mary Petrie's and Carolyn Boehlke's latest books.

  3. Hi, I'm visiting from Green Girl's blog :-)

When I was in high school, I devoured science fiction. There are some amazing author's out there. Unfortunately, it can get dated pretty quickly, although Stranger in a Strange Land, by Heinlein, and some of his other works, have such great social commentary that they are still relevant today. Bradbury's the same. I don't read much Sci Fi now, although I've enjoyed some Greg Bear novels over the last 10 years. I'm currently reading Mary Petrie's At the End of Magic, and I just finished Vertigo 42, by Martha Grimes. And I've pre-ordered Big Little Lies, by Liane Moriarty. :-) Lots of good reading this summer!
