i have tried to quit smoking cigs, the longest i have gotten is 2 months. i was fine without smoking untill i had surgery and got home a week later, i did not want to eat so i smoked instead; im such a jackass!
I recently kicked my 2 Liter a day Coke Zero habit. Now I only drink caffeinated diet coke as a treat when I go out to eat. If I buy a bottle of something for home I've been getting Diet Sprite or Diet Ginger Ale.
It was easier to quit smoking, which I did cold turkey, 17 yrs ago and never had another cigarette.
My addiction to sweets and Coca Cola. For Lent, I am cutting down to one sweet per day (which includes pop). So I had a Coke from McDonald's today, so no other desserts for me! (I have a terrible sweet tooth! I seriously eat several desserts a day! I HAVE to cut down!)
Just plain over-eating. I'm trying not to eat any sweets for Lent. I've never been a soda pop person so at least I don't have that bad habit.
I could never give up my morning coffee. Something about morning needs a kick start. I love ice tea so I think that would be a great substitute for that nasty ol diet coke.
I've tried to lay off the coffee periodically, but overeating has been the toughest to kick. I take control in short bursts, but then I get tired or stressed and I'm back to making dinners with creamy sauces and buttery meats, comforting myself with culinary indulgence.

I gave up caffeine last weekend. Last week was a bit rough but now I feel great! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI had to give up coffee, not because I wanted to, but because I had to. It's been two years and I still miss my morning cup.
