Question of the Day #1,105
When I was about 30, a lot of my friends were getting married and getting pregnant. I went through a weird loathing period full of thoughts like, "What's wrong with me?" "Why doesn't anyone want to marry me?"
I should have concentrated on being awesome. Like I do now.
What period of your life do you wish you'd handled better?
xoxo,
Suzanne

My early 20s. I had no idea who I was, and I just feel like there were quite a few years wasted on trying to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteOy. Made a lot of mistakes. There was a guy I dated for 10 years...and I could have handled our break up better.
ReplyDelete30. Did way too much partying.
ReplyDeleteMy mid twenties were filled with self-doubt about not knowing my life path. My over-achieving high school friends were getting grad degrees or becoming lawyers or what have you. Basically, I was putting others on a pedestal and tripping myself out about my lack of focus or concrete professional achievement. Even though I'm still not married, having children, or settling in on a specific career, I'm realizing my own awesomeness through my varied life experience and just through being ME. Comparisons are odious. Just be your best self.
ReplyDeleteIf I look back, I'd have to say all of it. Seriously. If I let myself, I'll lament for the rest of my life. I cannot look back on any major decision and say I got that right. So...
ReplyDeleteI prefer to look forward and learn from everything I've ever done wrong. Next week, I turn 49. Thankfully, I'm in fantastic health so it's fair to assume that I have half my life to go.
What do I want? How do I get it? Do it.
Fortunately, my list is realistic and doable.
Ha ha! I love Barney Stinson.
ReplyDeleteI guess I really shouldn't wish I changed anything in the past as I like where I am now.
But I probably should have drank a little less in college. :)
High school.
ReplyDeleteI'm only 21 now so I haven't had quite as much life experience. But I would say I should have dealt with high school better. Improved myself more, learned more about myself, that kinda thing.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe I should have worked harder in my last year of college. I was so freaking lazy ... I didn't study at all ... I could have been the top of my class, I could run circles around my classmate with the highest GPA, but I was busy working and stuff, gah. Oh well.
