Question of the Day #799
All-Star blogger Kelly Polark did an awesome 2010 Recap covering her favorite concerts, songs, movies, and TV Shows. As tempting as it is to borrow shamelessly and ask all of you to list your favorite things of 2010, I will instead use her question as a springboard for mine.
What about 2010 stood out the most to you?
My answer, unfortunately, is that just about everybody I know had a hard time. Lack of work and money, weird health issues and scares. Rejection. Strange weather, including the worst summer in LA ever and way too much rain too early. (Which is not just a complaint. It could be dangerous later on.) Ridiculous love problems. Things that shouldn't even have been issues exploded into disasters. Then there were very scary, real relationship problems.
All in all, it seemed to be a year of extremes. It was kind of like Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs on every level-not just the weather.
Okay, back to the question (and hopefully more positive answers). What about 2010 stood out the most to you?

Suzanne
I lost my cat in 2010. Doesn't sound like much, especially compared to some of the horrible things other people dealt with, but it was hard for me. The rest of the year wasn't that bad, though I'm sure it could have been better.
ReplyDeleteGood: I earned both competent communicator and competent leadership awards at Toastmaster's Intl. local club.
ReplyDeleteBad: My husband was sick three months with a liver infection.
Ugly: We didn't make as much progress on our debt reduction plan as we had hoped due to lack of overtime and travel since he was sick.
Honestly, a highlight for me was getting to know so many great bloggers / writers. I had no idea how supportive the industry could be! xo
ReplyDelete2010 was good for me. Traveled to many places. Learned a lot. Visited with family, granddaughters and good friends. Got my tennis game back :) Got my health back on track. All good things, but I do understand that many have suffered this year. I am hoping and praying that all will be GREAT in 2011 for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI traveled a lot in 2010 and went to fun concerts so it was a busy and fun year. But what stood out most was my hubby got a new job in another state so I found out we are moving. Which is a big deal for a homebody like me. But it's good as my hubby was laid off for a year so it will be a positive move.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the shout out! :)
ReplyDeleteWe went through a flood in 2010, so I'm hoping 2011 is much better!
ReplyDelete2010: The year I became a Grandfather.
ReplyDeleteFor me, 2010 was an emotional rollercoaster of high and low moments. I'm hoping 2011 brings more good than bad!
ReplyDelete2010 was full of amazing moments as I watched my daughter continue to grow and learn and explore the world and transform into this funny little person. Though there were struggles, frustrations and fears, the moments with my daughter definitely shone the brightest.
ReplyDeleteI have to take the pessemistic view and agree that 2010 was not the greatest. Nasty weather that put us behind in our farming all year long, an impromptu river that flowed through our farmyard, still unresolved health issues rearing their ugly heads, and I didn't even get a garden planted at all! But everything is going to be different this year, right? RIGHT?
ReplyDeleteOur summer--despite the rain, it was HOT and we had a great time swimming, playing ball and eating raspberries.
