I haven't lost my fan...You NEED to go off to Rome. I haven't lost my fantasy about leaving this all and becoming a bartender in Aruba...

Best wisdom I've heard lately: "You don't get a better view in heaven if you're a Vice President than if you were a kitchen helper." Translated: Stop working unhealthily hard because it doesn't get you much other than stress and grief. :-)Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05583084411313447932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592655422199331070.post-73742876007804272382009-01-19T17:17:00.000-08:002009-01-19T17:17:00.000-08:00Wow, Sudabaki. Okay, so...No answers to the wisdom question so far? Okay, so I don't know if I have any that I can't necessarily get out of my head but let's see what I can come up with. For starters I think that fake it till you make it is pretty good advice in many circumstances. I also like when in doubt don't. My husband always tells me that when I'm unsure if something in the fridge is still edible. Way back when I used to dabble in Al Anon I remember this woman standing up and sharing her version of the serenity prayer. God give me the grace to keep my tongue in my face. I still giggle when I think of that one. It's excellent advice and it's amusing. And lastly, I once read a book with the following in it which I really liked. It was also back in my al-anon days.

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters

I
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the side walk.
I fall in.
I am lost...I am helpless
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place
but, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I fall in....it's a habit.
my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

IV
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

V
I walk down another street.sudabakihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01548980335470490884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592655422199331070.post-91341675201754542902009-01-19T14:22:00.000-08:002009-01-19T14:22:00.000-08:00What?
